A first look at McPherson Square renovation plans, city to continue gathering input
After seeing the redesign plans for McPherson Square Park and Library, residents asked for more shade, and requested the library stay open during construction.
Students in grades six through 12 are invited to this free workshop series, where they will develop a mural design at Kensington Voice with community artist John C. Zerbe (zerbeartz.com).
From October through December, we'll create various visual art projects, like banners, logos, photos, postcards, stickers, and t-shirt designs that help design the mural, all while providing a platform for kids & teens to express themselves and share with their peers and community.
We'll provide after-school snacks and drinks, plus all the art supplies. The recommended age is 6th through 12th grade, but we won't turn anybody away.
Students can drop in for one workshop, a few, or all! But youth participants who attend at least half (5) of the workshops will receive a $75 gift card at the final event in December.
Register for our Youth Voices program and choose “Mural Art Mondayz” to get the door code: tinyurl.com/y88wu4w8.
