Who We Are
Kensington Voice is an independent, nonprofit newsroom and community hub serving the neighborhoods of Kensington, Fairhill, Harrowgate, Norris Square, and Port Richmond in North Philadelphia. We publish news, guides, community-authored opinions, and resources created with and for our neighbors.
Our Mission
We are committed to accurate, community‑informed, and transparent reporting. Our mission is to serve all people in Kensington and North Philadelphia with accountability, clarity, and respect — combining community engagement, direct service, and local journalism that puts residents first.
What We Do
- Accountability reporting focused on local government, safety, housing, schools, and neighborhood quality of life
- Community news and event listings
- Practical guides and resource directories
- Projects that elevate resident stories and solutions
How We’re Structured
Kensington Voice operates with nonprofit status through a fiscal sponsor: Movement Alliance Project (MAP), a 501(c)(3) organization (EIN: 26‑0307123). Fiscal sponsorship means MAP extends its nonprofit status to our project, providing financial administration and compliance while we maintain editorial independence.
